As General Manager of Shudder, Engler is responsible for the long-term business and programming strategy for the network as well as overseeing day-to-day operations including, programming, content production, press and marketing. Since joining Shudder in 2018, Engler launched the service’s first original scripted series, the breakout hit Creepshow (from The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero); Shudder’s first original documentary, the highly acclaimed Horror Noire; the return of beloved horror host Joe Bob Briggs; and high-profile acquisitions including A Discovery of Witches, Mandy (with Nicholas Cage), and Tigers Are Not Afraid.

Before joining Shudder, Engler spent 15 years as a senior executive at Syfy and was part of the leadership team that created the long-term strategy for the channel. After leaving the network, he co-created and executive produced Syfy’s hit series Z Nation, which ran for five seasons.
