Federico Lariño serves as Senior Vice President of Sports Entertainment at Univision Communications Inc., the leading Hispanic media company in the U.S. In this role, which he has held since 2015, Lariño leads a division focused on the creation, development and execution of programs for TUDN, Univision’s multi-platform sports brand that includes the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network in the U.S.

Lariño joined Univision in 2002 as an entertainment writer, a role in which he developed and co-wrote sketches, comedy shows and top-rated special event shows, such as the Latin GRAMMY Awards, TeletónUSA and Premio Lo Nuestro. In 2007, Lariño created the format for the network’s hit franchise “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” a unique reality beauty competition. He went on to serve as its Executive Producer and head writer during its first seven seasons.

In 2014, he joined the company’s sports division and was named Executive Producer of “República Deportiva.” The program, which broke new ground by bringing together the worlds of sports and entertainment, has been the most-watched daytime sports news show among Hispanics, regardless of language, since its debut 20 years ago.

Throughout his career with TUDN, Lariño developed, wrote and served as executive producer of “Premios Univision Deportes,” the company’s first sports tentpole event. Launched to honor top athletes and teams, the gala became the premier sports award show for U.S. Hispanics. In 2015 and 2016, it was the top-rated sports awards show among Hispanic Adults 18-49, outperforming the ESPYs and the NBA Players’ Awards. Lariño also developed a second sports tentpole, “Balón de Oro de la Liga MX,” which honors the best soccer players in the Mexican league and is produced every summer in Los Angeles since 2016.

Lariño has bachelor’s degrees in economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires and TV Production from TEA Imagen. He lives in Miami."
