Katie Maloney is a Television Agent at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), based in its New York office.
Maloney, a lifelong fan of reality TV, has established herself as an expert in the space, having sold every genre of unscripted series in the global television marketplace from high-end documentaries like CNN Films’ Oscar-nominated RBG, for which she represented directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen, to the fan-favorite reality series TLC’s SAY YES TO THE DRESS from client Half Yard, in addition to Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA and REAL HOUSEWIVES OF POTOMAC from client Truly Original, BSTV’s TRISH’S SOUTHERN KITCHEN, and USA’s CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST, produced by client Maverick.
In 2018, the TV industry had an insatiable appetite for reboots, revivals, and series based on existing IP. Maloney took note. She helped client Half Yard expand its SAY YES franchise with SAY YES TO THE NEST and brought back WHILE YOU WERE OUT, both for TLC. Her client Authentic Entertainment rebooted TLC’s classic hit, TRADING SPACES, while client Truly Original rebooted DEAL OR NO DEAL for CNBC and Switchblade Entertainment rebooted Rachael Ray’s 30 MINUTE MEALS for the Food Network. Maloney also represents Figure 8 Films, producers of hit shows SISTER WIVES and COUNTING ON, and sold KATE PLUS DATE to TLC, reuniting audiences with reality star Kate Gosselin.
In 2018, Maloney also sold one of the most highly anticipated projects, Nat Geo’s ONE STRANGE ROCK, working on behalf of CAA clients Nutopia, Darren Aaronofsky, and Will Smith.
Maloney began her career at N.S. Bienstock Inc. She joined CAA in 2011 and is among the senior-most women in the Alternative Television department. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English and French.
