Joseph Markowski

EVP, North America
Joseph Markowski serves as Executive Vice President at DAZN, where he is responsible for the North American business unit’s revenue with direct oversight of partnerships, rightsholder activation, marketing, communications and overall market strategy.

In 2018, Markowski orchestrated the commercial and operational launch of DAZN in the United States. Under his guidance, DAZN has become an immediate player in the media landscape, most recently dominating fight sports with one of the biggest boxing upsets in recent history, Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr., putting DAZN at the forefront of sports and media talk as fans - not just fight fans - reacted everywhere.

With a strategic vision to challenge the combat sports pay-per-view model, DAZN has in less than a year’s time become the exclusive home of boxing superstars Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, Anthony Joshua as well as Bellator MMA - all at an affordable price. Further, in March 2019, DAZN expanded into the big four American sports leagues by launching ChangeUp, a nightly MLB whip-around show featuring live look-ins from all 30 teams.

Markowski also manages the DAZN Canada business, where the platform has collected an impressive set of premium sports rights including the NFL, Premier League, Champions League, Serie A, La Liga and more. Prior to his time in North America, Markowski helped launch the DAZN Japan business from 2016 to 2018.

Over the last decade, Joseph has successfully transformed DAZN from an idea to a viable platform that has not only transformed sports media, but became the largest pure over-the-top (OTT) sports broadcaster globally.

Markowski currently lives in Brooklyn, and received his M.B.A. from Imperial College in London in 2015.
